During the Saphire Pegasus Business Aviation Awards ceremony held in Prague, the Czech Republic at the end of last month, Signum Aviation of Manchester, UK, walked away with the Young Talent/Start Up award.
The award was presented to the small trip planning support provider due to its consistent double-digit growth since its founding in 2007 and by significantly widening its client base over the past few years.
According to a company statement, the reason for Signum Aviation’s success is neither technological nor digital. “The main thing that sets us apart is our amazing team of ops professionals,” comments Signum Aviation Founder & Managing Director Jonathan Gill. “With 100% staff retention since our founding, clients know that when they contact Signum Aviation they will get someone on the end of the phone or e-mail who knows their operation and specific requirements. Gill says that a personal touch coupled with international experience has lead the main source of new client acquisition to be through word-of-mouth referrals.
Recent estimates by the European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) value the economic impact of business aviation handling in Europe to be as hish as €200 million which offers a large market share to flight support specialists. Over the past two decades, the market has also seen the entry of Middle Eastern operators showcasing huge platforms with complex workflows, extensive credit lines or global fueling capabilities.
During the award ceremony, Gill emphasized his gratitude towards the Signum team, without whom “none of this would have been possible. Their dedication, passion and hard work make this company as incredible as it is,” he concludes.
