My Sky,the Swiss company specialized in business aviation financial management since 2015, was named winner of the Sapphire Pegasus Business Aviation Awards in the Innovation in Business Aviation category. The award was received at a prestigious Gala dinner held in Prague on Friday, April 28th 2017.
This year, 78 nominees have applied for the awards in 12 different categories created to reward business excellence in the private aviation industry. A record number of 28 633 online votes has been received during 30 days of online voting.
“Our team is very excited to receive this very important and prestigious award. This is our second recognition within twelve months, after having been awarded a Bronze Stevie® Award in the “Startup of the Year – Business Services Industries” category in August last year,” said Christopher Marich, Global Strategy Director and Co-founder, My Sky. “Being recognized by a jury of industry experts as the most innovative company in the business aviation sector validates what we have been building for the past three years and strengthens our value proposition: to revolutionize private jet ownership through technology and expertise, empowering jet owners across the globe”.
Antonia Lukacinova, founder and Executive Director of the Sapphire Pegasus Business Aviation Awards, commented: “The category of Innovation in Business Aviation was the most popular this year, both in terms of the number of nominations and votes. This clearly demonstrates that business aviation companies are constantly working on improving their services, practices or technology”.
Volker Meissner, Deputy Chairman of BACA – The Air Charter Association, representing Chairman Richard Mumford (a Member of the Sapphire Pegasus Business Aviation Awards’ Advisory Board) at the Award Dinner, added: “It is fantastic to see innovation and creative ideas being rewarded by the business aviation community. The use of technology to help owners streamline processes for an efficient administration and utilisation of their privately owned business jets has to be of benefit to the whole industry. I congratulate My Sky on their award and wish them well with their future endeavours.”
The Sapphire Pegasus Awards are a unique series of International Business Aviation Awards rewarding outstanding performance of companies or individuals from the EMEA region in the business aviation sector. The judging process is based on results of online voting in combination with votes allocated by a panel of expert judges from Sapphire Pegasus Advisory Board.
My Sky was nominated in two categories: Innovation in Business Aviation and Young Talent / Startup. Based on the results of the online voting, the company gained more than 50% of total votes in both categories.
Today there are over 50 private jets with a total value of 1.5 billion EUR under My Sky’s financial management. The company interacts with 26 operators and 1,200 suppliers, analysing 50,000 costs per month. In April 2017 the company known earlier as My Jet announced its rebranding. The new name – My Sky – reflects the global expansion of the firm and the significant evolution of its product and service offer, aligned with the second release of its IT platform.
